Key Messages

  • En général, les niveaux des stocks ménages demeurent satisfaisants, contribuant ainsi à l’alimentation des ménages. Cependant, dans les zones de déficit de production prononcé du Niger et du Tchad, ces stocks commencent déjà à s’épuiser en janvier entrainant une dépendance précoce des ménages pauvres du marché.

  • Les marchés sont bien approvisionnés en céréales locales dans les différents bassins avec des prix relativement stables par rapport à ceux de novembre 2013, mais en hausse de 15-30 pourcent dans les bassins Est et Ouest par rapport à la moyenne. Cette hausse pour l’instant n’affecte pas l’accès alimentaire des ménages dépendants du marché en raison de la mise en œuvre des stratégies habituelles. Toutefois, l’accès à l’alimentation pourrait devenir préoccupant pour les ménages pauvres de zones déficitaires du Sahel à partir de mars/avril.
