The poorest households in the eastern and western dry corridor that lost their crops during the prolonged seasonal dry spell and whose main income comes from the coffee sector, are facing Stressed (Phase 2, CIF) food security. Some of these households that have exhausted their food reserves and depend on the market, have begun to use negative strategies to ensure a basic diet and are classified in Crisis (Phase 3, CIF).

The temporary increase in the demand for unskilled labor, the recent harvests of basic grains, and the subsequent stability of prices thanks to the increase in availability in the market, will allow the poorest households in the rest of the country to be classified in Minimal food insecurity (Phase 1, CIF).
