Hausse atypique de prix de la farine de maïs en lien avec les restrictions zambiennes en cours
  • La situation sur les lignes de front dans le sud de la province du Nord-Kivu est relativement calme. En effet, on observe le retrait des rebelles du M23 et l’interposition des forces régionales de East African Community (EAC). Cette situation a diminué les violences et a permis le retour de plus de 50 000 personnes déplacées entre le 13 mars et le 1er avril dans le territoire de Rutshuru, afin de s’occuper des activités agricoles durant cette période de conduite de la saison agricole B. Cependant, le gouvernement continue à refuser toute négociation avec ces rebelles et cela pourra saper toute tentative de dialogue entre l'État et le M23 à court terme.

  • Des hausses des prix atypiques des produits de base continuent sur les marchés. L’instabilité de la monnaie locale, la période de soudure dans le sud-est du pays ainsi que les restrictions sur les exportations dans les pays voisins, notamment la Zambie, et la hausse du cout de transport sont parmi les causes de cette hausse des prix. En début avril 2023, les prix des principales denrées de base montrent des variations de l’ordre de 78 et 43 pourcents comparés respectivement à la moyenne quinquennale et à la même période de l’année précédente. Cette situation présage des difficultés d’accès aux aliments pour les ménages pauvres dont les moyens d’existence restent fragiles.

  • En ce début de la petite soudure (saison B), certaines zones de l’est qui connaissent les effets des conflits prolongés resteront en Crise (Phase 3 de l’IPC) avec une augmentation de populations en Urgence (Phase 4 de l’IPC) dans certaines zones de santé des territoires de Rutshuru et Djugu, dans un contexte d’extrême violence. En revanche, le centre-est et le sud-est, avec des territoires ayant connu une campagne agricole assez complète seront en situation de Stress (Phase 2 de l’IPC). Les zones stables du nord qui ne connaissent aucun déficit alimentaire pour le moment seront en phase Minimale (Phase 1 de l’IPC).
