- Favorable rains continued in Nyirol County through the end of August. Maize and sorghum crops have matured and green consumption is expected to continue through the end of September. Crop development in Akobo County continued in August with steady rains.
- In Payijiar County, increased rainfall since mid-July has caused flooding in six out of ten payams including Nyal and Ganyiel. Flooding could affect crop performance in these areas.
- Heavy rains during the month of August in Malakal County have caused flooding and limited access to distant farms.
- Heavy rains in Kapoeta County have improved pasture and crop performance and sorghum planted in July is now at the milk stage. However, persistent heavy rains could negatively affect crops before they mature.
